Kamikochi hiking/walking area : Myoujinike

1. Myojin Pond Area 
To those that want to take their time to enjoy the nature

Approximate duration time: 2 hours one way / 4 hours round trip

From Kappa Bridge to the Myojin area, it is about 3.5 km, and it usually takes about 1 hour to walk. We will spend 2-3 times more hours to walk in this course by looking carefully at the workings of living creatures and the system of the nature that we usually overlook.
This course is recommended to those that want to experience the forest atmosphere and take time to enjoy the nature.
For a one-way course, the guide will finish at the Myojin area, and you will be able to enjoy your free walk back from there. The way back from the Myojin area to the Kamikochi bus terminal, it is about 1 hour walk. There are no buses or taxi in this area, so please make sure to consider your time and energy when participating.

Kamikochi hiking/walking area : Kappa Bridge

2. Kappa Bridge Area 
To those that want to feel the serenity of the night or the early morning

Approximate duration time: 1 hour round trip

Kamikochi is a special protection zone of a national park, and how quiet and dark it gets at night times is beyond imagination.
That darkness, the clear air at the elevation of 1500 meters, and the silhouette of the 3000 meters Japan Alps, makes the billions of galaxies shine out even more.
In order to look at the starlit sky of Kamikochi, you will need a guide that knows everything about Kamikochi. Please enjoy the luxurious moments looking up at the sparkling stars from our VIP seating just for the night guide courses.

Kamikochi hiking/walking area : Taisho Pond

3. Taisho Pond Area 
To those that want to enjoy the typical Kamikochi sceneries

Approximate duration time: 2 hours one way / 4 hours round trip

The course from Kappa Bridge to Taisho Pond (approx. 3.5km) is a course where you can fully enjoy the sceneries of the clear ponds, river flows, quiet swamps, and the mountains that change their expressions every day. This is a course where many of the visitors to Kamikochi walk around, but how about feeling the existence of the living creatures on the edges of this course, and understanding the meanings and the history hidden within these sceneries.
There are buses and taxis within Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, so there is an option to join one way and come back by bus or taxi.

Kamikochi hiking/walking area : Tokusawa

4. Tokusawa Area 
To those that want to enjoy the typical Kamikochi sceneries

Approximate duration time: 3 hours one way / 6 hours round trip

The distance from Kappa Bridge is approx. 7 kilometers, and the difference in elevation is approx. 60 meters. Tokusawa is an area in Kamikochi, where you do not find many tourists and can enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the forest.
How about enjoying the long walk to this area where the flowers, sceneries, and the changing of the seasons are a little different? You maybe able to discover something new about Kamikochi that you did not know.

Standard Course

  • 1 Elementary School/Junior High School student is free per adult (When there are more than 1 student, the adult price will apply)
  • The number of participants per guide is up to 9 people.
  • Tokusawa course will be guided with the Myojin Course [A.M.] up to the Myojin Area.
  • Reservations need to be made by 16pm on the day before for Early Morning Course, by 16pm on the day for Night Course, and 15 minutes before the departure time for Myojin Course.
